Over 175 health leaders, clinicians and emerging professionals gathered at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday 19 Feb 2026, for the ACHSM Queensland Branch’s highly successful one-day Leadership Conference, delivered in partnership with Griffith University and Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
The conference, Leading Health Services Innovation: The Health Leadership Revolution, brought together an impressive line-up of speakers to explore how leadership, innovation and collaboration are shaping the future of healthcare in Queensland.
Keynote presentations from the Hon Tim Nicholls MP, Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, and Queensland Health Director-General Dr David Rosengren set the tone for the day, highlighting the strategic priorities and workforce innovations shaping the state’s health system.
Both speakers highlighted the importance of strong health leadership as Queensland prepares for future growth and major events such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, reinforcing the critical role organisations like ACHSM play in supporting and developing the next generation of health leaders.
The program also featured expert panel discussions on ethical innovation and AI, as well as practical examples of healthcare innovation in action.
The event concluded with a leadership masterclass by Professor Matt Kutz, leaving attendees with practical insights and fresh perspectives on leading in a rapidly evolving health environment.
With strong attendance, engaging discussion and valuable networking throughout the day, the conference once again demonstrated the strength of Queensland’s health management community , and why ACHSM Queensland Branch events continue to be a must-attend for health leaders across the state.
