2026 Award Competency
Talent Management is an action domain embedded within the ACHSM Leadership & Management Competency Framework, as a professional attribute and as a capability that is applied in management and leadership practices.
If you know of a health manager or leader who works across the NSW health and social services ecosystem and has demonstrated talent management competencies in the last 12 months, including:
Demonstrating the ability to apply contemporary workforce practices to retain and build the breadth and depth of an organisation, service, unit or team’s human capability and professionalism.
Motivating others to develop leadership skillsets and competence.
Taking a personal interest in coaching and mentoring emerging leaders, identifying and supporting talent development and high performance.
Role modelling professionalism demonstrated by the ability to align personal conduct with ethical and professional standards, balancing professional and personal accountability.
Actioned commitment to competence, integrity and altruism.
Actively listening with understanding and empathy.
Monitors staff wellbeing, identifying and responding to stress in the workplace, and demonstrating a commitment to ensuring a supportive environment and addressing inappropriate behaviours.
The person nominated must have shown outstanding management and leadership with a specific focus on talent management
The person nominating or nominated, does not have to be an ACHSM member

There is no single winner ALL eligible nominated Health Managers and Leaders will be publicly recognised at End of Year Celebration on Friday 27th November 2026 at 4:30pm at Hall & Wilcox.
