About the speaker:

Professor Cobie Rudd is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships) and Vice-President at Edith Cowan University (ECU).

Professor Rudd has key responsibility for redressing gender equities in academia for Edith Cowan University, the only Australian university to be named after a woman.  As part of this, she leads the University’s participation in the first pilot of the Athena SWAN Charter in Australia and successfully achieved accreditation under this international scheme in December 2018; ECU was one of only 15 organisations to receive the award nationally.

Professor Rudd has over 30 years of experience across sectors and has led a diverse range of capacity-building and research projects on a national scale, and also held senior policy research and advisory roles for both state and commonwealth governments. She has served on over 15 boards of governance; she currently holds Cabinet-endorsed appointments to the State Training Board and the Ministerial Council for Suicide Prevention and is on the Board of the Cancer Council of WA. Professor Rudd is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
