Jenny Gibbins

Jenny is a second year Health Management Intern at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Jenny holds a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Commerce, Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education and Master of Nursing Practice. In her role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Jenny provided specialist care for both children and adults through clinical nursing, health promotion, quality improvement, leadership, research and education. 

Jenny joined the program to acquire practical skills and insight into health management, as well as understand critical trends, successes and opportunities that exist within the health system. 

Kelly Hayden

Kelly joined the internship program in 2017. Her current placement is at the Department of Health and Human Services in Metropolitan Performance. Her first year placements included the Project Management Office at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and the Quality and Risk Department at Benalla Health Services. 

Kelly has a Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion (Honours) from Deakin University. Her thesis looked at the state of sexual and reproductive health of Australian university students. Prior to joining the program Kelly worked in community health on a range of community participation and health literacy projects.

Kelly joined the program to gain exposure to the wider healthcare system and to understand the various components of healthcare delivery. She is hoping to use the skills and experience developed from the program to improve service accessibility and integration.

Cherie Holland

Cherie Holland is a 2nd year ACHSM Management Intern who joined the program in 2017. Her current placement is at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Strategy and Organisational Improvement. Her previous placements were at the Department of Health and Human Services in the Metropolitan Performance team and in the rural sector where she was placed in three health services within the Campaspe Shire, Echuca Regional Health, Kyabram District Health Service and Rochester and Elmore District Health Services.

Cherie has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complimentary Medicine) and a Masters of Osteopathy from RMIT University. She also has a Diploma of Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Method which enables her to practice within the private health sector. She has previously worked as an Osteopath in the rural sector and in metropolitan areas throughout Victoria and NSW.

Cherie joined the Health Management Intern Program to gain further knowledge and develop the necessary skills to enable her to work in the health sector. On the job training will support her to learn about the intricate nuances of health management through experienced leaders who are working in the sector.


Isabelle Howard

Isabelle is a proud Jaadwa woman and a 2nd Year Management Intern who commenced the program in 2017. Isabelle is currently placed in the Public Health and Research Unit at VACCHO. Her previous placements were in the Project Management Team at Dental Health Services Victoria and Rural Health, Department of Health and Human Services. 

Isabelle has a Bachelor of Nursing from The Australian Catholic University and worked in one of Victoria’s largest hospitals specialising in Medical Oncology and Women’s Health.  She hopes that her frontline experience will be valuable throughout her placements.

Isabelle joined the program to gain a comprehensive understanding of the health care system and to develop skills in leadership and management. Isabelle is passionate about Aboriginal health and hopes to make a positive change in Aboriginal health outcomes throughout her career.

Cherry Liang

Cherry is a second year management intern who commenced the program in 2017. Her current placement is at the Department of Health and Human Services under the Commissioning, Performance and Regulation Branch, working within the Rural Health Team.

Cherry holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Melbourne. She worked as a registered physiotherapist with extensive clinical background across different health service sectors. Prior to joining the ACHSM HMIP program, she was also completing a Master of Health Management with University of New South Wales via distance study.

Cherry joined the program to broaden her scope of the healthcare system and to consolidate on various managerial skills. She is passionate about leading innovative ideas to improve the way healthcare is provided.  She also hopes to unite healthcare managers from an even broader Australasian region to participate in the healthcare discussion internationally.

Milena Mijas

Milena is a 2nd Year Management Intern who joined the program in 2017. Her current placement is with Ambulance Victoria in Quality and Patient Experience. During 2017, Milena completed placements with West Gippsland Healthcare Group in Business Support and The Department of Health and Human Services in System, Design and Planning. 

Prior to joining the program Milena worked as a Health Promotion Officer and Project Officer across various topic areas including Alcohol and Other Drugs, Water Safety and Drowning Prevention and Asthma. Milena has a Bachelor of Health Science (major in Health Promotion and sub-major in Sociology) from Western Sydney University.

Milena joined the program to gain exposure to and to increase her knowledge of the healthcare industry. As well as to further develop and expand her leadership and project management skills.
