Highlights from the survey included:

1. We have an ageing member population with 44% due to retire in the next 10 years

2. We have an extremely experienced membership base with an average of 14 years management experience.

3. Members are generally 'satisfied' with member services.

4. Members are 'satisfied' with the performance of the board, branch and staff or ACHSM

5.  71% rated professional development as very important or essential

6. 90% believed that having a quality website was essential

7.  72% preferred an electronic version of the Journal

8. 86% rated advocacy as being a very important or essential ACHSM activity

9. Other strategic areas including recognition and awards, networking, promoting the profession, engaging members, and setting and promoting professional standards were all considered to be very important or essential college activities.

10. A third of respondants preferred to pay for thier membership by direct debit or subscription

11. 96% believed the frequency of ACHSM communication is appropriate.
