Graduate Programs

ACHSM provides intensive Graduate Health Management Programs for students and postgraduates of Health Management courses who wish to pursue a career in health management.

The Program provides individualised, structured and supportive on-the-job learning experiences that enable you to learn how to be a health manager, whilst completing post graduate study in Health Services Management. Participants have the opportunity to work in a wide range of settings during a structured program of management rotations across the public , non-for profit and private sectors.

New South Wales - Graduate Health Management Program

To build a successful and rewarding management career in today’s demanding health system, you need to make the right choices about your education and professional development. The Graduate Health Management Program (GHMP) provides an entry level health management program, designed to fast track your career. The program is supported by the NSW and ACT health systems with placements offered in a range of health settings. The GHMP also has a number of identified positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees.

Victoria - Management Training Programs

The principal aim of the programs is to attract graduates from a diverse range of educational and working backgrounds to pursue a career in health services management. The objectives are: To provide future health management leaders. To provide qualified, innovative and motivated health managers, from an entry-level basis, through a complete program of training, education and professional development.

Tasmania - Management Training Program

The Tasmanian Graduate Trainee Program is an initiative that seeks to address the issue of recruitment and retention of health management personnel within the health care industry in Tasmania. It offers academic and experiential training over a two year period. Trainees are university graduates who have a commitment to undertaking a health management role in Tasmania. During the program trainees undertake placements of up to 6 months in Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) facilities to develop their management skills and a parallel academic program leading to a Graduate Diploma of Health (Executive Development).
