In the past 12 months, NSW, the Federal government and now Queensland have committed to or are establishing Mental Health Commissions. In January this year, the Federal Minister for Mental Health Hon Mark Butler, released a Ten Year Mental Health Reform Roadmap to transform services. The Federal Department of Health and Ageing issued a tender for the development of a new National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Report Card. The Report Card's "ultimate aim .. is to measure and give greater transparency to how the system is performing for mental health consumers, their families and carers, service providers, governments and other stakeholders" the DOHA documents state.
