As always, the Gold Coast promises to be more than just an education and networking destination.
Fora such as these typically bring together different professional groups - health managers and health facility designers and planners working across the sectors and across the disciplines making up healthcare - who are able to learn from each other by comparing respective roles and responsibilities and sharing knowledge and experiences.
The theme ‘Inspiring Concepts in Health Management - Surfing the Crest of the Wave' acknowledges that locally (in Australia) we are in the throes of a 'wave' of change - and globally we are all striving for the same thing – put simply, better health outcomes as a result of better health management. As decision-making becomes increasingly complex, existing workforce profiles are evolving, and as demand to improve the safety of health care continues to grow, health care managers must do better than to merely keep the status quo.
The aim of this Congress is to present new thinking on the main challenges faced by health managers and health facility designers and planners. We will be sharing with you - the participants - the latest in leadership and innovation in health service management.
