ACHSM WA Branch is pleased to announce Nancy Bineham as the recipient of the ACHSM National Congress/Ramsay Health Care Scholarship 2011. The scholarship, which was open to all WA members, was generously sponsored by Ramsay Health Care and included Congress registration fees, accommodation and airfares. The scholarship was awarded to Nancy who is the Manager Planning at WA Country Health Service on the basis of her commitment to the College and the relevance the Congress has to her role at WACHS. As part of the scholarship, Nancy will provide an article on the Congress for publication shortly. The WA Branch would like to thank College members Kevin Cass-Ryall (Executive Director, Hollywood Private Hospital) and Kempton Cowan (CEO, Joondalup Health Campus) for facilitating this sponsorship on behalf of Ramsay Health Care.

"I was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend my first ACHSM conference in Rotorura. The conference was very well organised, stimulating, thought provoking and I gained useful insights into many aspects of health service management and planning work. I was able to connect with others from different jurisdictions and share the networks and information locally, as well as spending quality time with my other WA colleagues who were present - something we just don't have time to do in our hectic days at work. The experience has inspired me to work towards becoming a fellow of the college before too long! With many thanks to Ramsay Healthcare for making it possible."
